I ran 18 minutes today and whilst the glute/back felt itchy I wasn’t in pain. It was a weird one as it definitely didn’t feel as good as it did on Saturday when it was strong at the start  but it was the same for the whole run and felt much better at the end.

For those who aren't in the know the Green belt is a 22 stage, 2 day relay race around London with each team member running a leg on day 1 and day 2. I did my first k session in probably over a year - in previous years these have been my absolute staples. When I can do a session of 8 x k off a minute hard then I know things are going well - at times it has been "my" session.

I'm deliberately trying not to push it too hard after last week being a complete recovery week. I was improving with every run from Thursday to Sunday night. Sunday night's run I was actually okay and almost pain free with my quad and groin a lot better. I took Monday off and didn't run till Tuesday evening with the hope that I would be totally pain free.  How wrong could I be?
